Associate of Arts in Bible and Ministry


The degree, Associate of Arts in Bible and Ministry has been specifically crafted for those who cannot remain in school or in Cebu for an extended amount of time, and also for those who are not wanting to become fulltime staff workers but, rather, to simply sharpen their skills and knowledge as a servant of God.

Objectives

  1. 1. Through his personal life he demonstrates his faith in God, his commitment to Christ, and his regard for the Scriptures as embodying the message of God for the world.
  2. 2. In his relation with others he shows evidence of upright character, moral integrity, and Christian love.
  3. 3. In his family life he exhibits selflessness, warmth, and understanding.
  4. 4. His knowledge of history and philosophy enables him to take a connected view of old and new, past and present, far and near, and to have insight into the influence of these things one to another.
  5. 5. He makes effective use of the tools of learning and inquiry.
  6. 6. He has a passion for souls without the Gospel and understands how to communicate the Gospel to persons of varying circumstances and social settings.

General Requirements

    The student must satisfy the faculty that he has moved an appropriate degree toward the objectives outlined above, and that he adheres faithfully to the essentials of Christian doctrine taught in the Bible. This is accomplished through the following:

  1. 1. The student must have satisfactorily completed 81 semester hours with a cumulative grade point average of 2.25or above (based on the American system, 4.0 being the highest possible score). Of these, at least 42 must be taken at Cebu Bible College.
  2. 2. The student must have completed (1) year of internship, or its equivalent in terms of related ministry experience, anywhere in the country. Such should be verifiable and is subject to approval of the CBC administration. Satisfactory results acceptable by the congregation, or congregations, with which the student worked and by the CBC administration are required.
  3. 3. The student must have participated in one (1) summer field work assignment, with satisfactory results acceptable by the congregation with which he worked and by the CBC administration.
  4. 4. The student must also have satisfactorily participated in at least two (2) mid-semester, one-week evangelistic campaigns.
  5. 5. Finally, the student must appear before a review board composed of members of the faculty and administration. The interview, scheduled near the end of the student’s last semester, serves as an opportunity to review the student’s record, reflect on his experiences while at college, and to discuss his plans for the future. The interviewing committee is empowered to deny a candidate the right of graduation.
